The 2nd PUIG VELA CLĄSSICA BARCELONA Regatta for Vintage, Classic and Spirit of Tradition boats is organised by the Barcelona Royal Yacht Club and the Spanish Royal Sailing Federation, and sponsored by the Puig Group.
The PUIG VELA CLĄSSICA BARCELONA Regatta forms part of the official competition calendar, included in the Spanish Championship for Classic and Vintage Boats which is organised by the Spanish Royal Sailing Federation (RFEV).
The PUIG VELA CLĄSSICA BARCELONA Regatta will be held in the waters of Barcelona from 15 to 18 July 2009.
The regatta will be governed according to the following rules:
In the case of any discrepancies between this announcement and the Regatta Instructions, the latter will take precedence.
In the case of any discrepancies between the texts provided in Spanish, English and/or French, the Spanish text will take precedence.
Participants must comply with the conditions stipulated in the CIM 2006-2009 Rules for the rating and racing of Vintage and Classic yachts and the modifications stipulated in the 2007 Appendix.
Participants of Spanish nationality or those who are legally resident in Spain must possess a Sailing Federation License for 2009.

The registration process will be formalised through payment via personal cheque made out to the Real Club Nįutico de Barcelona or by bank transfer to the following account, indicating the name of the boat and providing a photocopy showing proof of payment:

The boat owner or their representative will be responsible for verifying that the registration application has been correctly received by the Organising Committee regardless of the application process used.

The application deadline is Monday 13 July 2009 at 20.00.
The Organising Committee reserves the right to extend this deadline.

At least one trial must be completed in each of the participating classes to win the 2nd PUIG VELA CLĄSSICA BARCELONA Regatta.
The routes will be indicated in the Regatta Instructions.
Safety and rating inspections may be carried out.
The scoring system will be that established in the ISAF rules (Appendix A4.1).
There will be a category for each established class and/or group.
The safety requirements established for this regatta will comply with the Special Regulations for Category 4 in accordance with the current ISAF Special Regulations for Offshore Racing.
All boats must be equipped with a VHF radio tuned to channel 16 and all other channels assigned for the regatta.
All boat owners or their representatives are responsible for ensuring that their vessel complies with the general and specific legal requirements for recreational boats for handling, dispatch and safety.
The list of awards will be detailed in the Regatta Instructions or published via the Official Notice Board.
All participating yachts that are based outside of Catalonia will be provided with a free berth at the Barcelona Royal Yacht Club from 1 to 31 July, 2009.
All other yachts will be provided with a free berth at the Barcelona Royal Yacht Club from 11 to 26 July, 2009.
Any advertising actions other than those instigated by the sponsor or the Organising Committee are strictly prohibited and may not be generated by any of the participants or any person, organisation and/or elements directly or indirectly linked to the organisation, person, product, service, brand or idea in any way that differs from that established in Appendix 1 of the RRS, rule 20.3.1 (b).
Non-compliance with this regulation will result in the automatic disqualification from the competition of the yacht responsible for the advertising action, with no right to reimbursement of the regatta registration fee.
The image rights are held solely and exclusively by the sponsor and the two clubs charged with organising this event.
All those participating in the regatta do so at their own risk and responsibility.
The Organising Committee or any person or entity involved in the organisation of the event does not accept any responsibility for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that may affect people or property, both on land and sea, as a consequence of participating in the competitions included in this regatta.
Participants are reminded of the ISAF Fundamental Rule 4, THE DECISION TO RACE, in Part 1 of the RRS which stipulates that:
"The responsibility for a boat's decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone"
